Role Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to design and implement comprehensive, scalable, and resilient technology solutions for our clients. In this role, you will serve as the technical visionary, translating business requirements into architectural designs that leverage best-in-class technologies across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed system designs, lead technical implementation efforts, and provide guidance on infrastructure optimization, cloud migrations, and enterprise application deployments. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while solving complex technical challenges, reporting directly to the CTO with high visibility across the organization. Key Responsibilities 

Solution Architecture & Design 

• Implementation & Migration Leadership: Lead and oversee the technical implementation of infrastructure projects, including data center consolidations, cloud migrations, and domain migrations. This includes developing detailed transition strategies to minimize business disruption.
• Technical Specifications: Develop detailed technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for infrastructure solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance 
• Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and products to meet business requirements while optimizing for cost, performance, and maintainability 
• System Integration: Design integration approaches between disparate systems, applications, and services to create cohesive technology ecosystems 
• Proof of Concept Development: Lead the creation of technical prototypes and proof-of-concept deployments to validate architectural decisions and demonstrate solution viability 

Implementation & Migration Leadership 

• Migration Planning: Design and oversee data center consolidations, cloud migrations, and domain migrations, developing comprehensive transition strategies that minimize disruption 
• Implementation Oversight: Provide technical leadership during solution implementation, ensuring adherence to architectural designs and technical specifications 
• Disaster Recovery: Design robust disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including backup strategies, replication configurations, and recovery procedures 
• Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure components 
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures 

Technical Leadership & Governance 

• Technical Guidance: Serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance to engineering teams on complex infrastructure challenges and architectural decisions 
• Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce technical standards, design patterns, and best practices for infrastructure deployments and cloud architecture 
• Technology Roadmap: Contribute to the development of the company's technology roadmap, identifying emerging technologies and innovation opportunities 
• Risk Assessment: Identify technical risks in proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies to address potential vulnerabilities or implementation challenges 
• Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their business needs, present architectural recommendations, and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

Required Qualifications & Skills 

• Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge in multiple domains is required: 
• Cloud Architecture: Extensive experience designing and implementing solutions in Azure and/or AWS environments, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS implementations 
• Server Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with enterprise server platforms (Dell, Cisco UCS), storage systems (Nimble, PureStorage), and virtualization technologies (VMware) 
• Microsoft Technologies: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies including Active Directory, Security Groups, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Certificate Authority, SCCM/MECM, and Entra ID 
• Collaboration & Productivity: Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and DFS file services 
• Security & Management: Knowledge of security best practices, InTune mobile device management, and identity management solutions 

Experience Requirements: 

• 6+ years of experience in IT systems architecture, infrastructure design, or related technical roles 
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex enterprise technology solutions 
• Experience leading data center/cloud migrations, domain migrations, and infrastructure transformation initiatives 
• Demonstrated expertise with disaster recovery solutions, including technologies like Rubrik 
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) 

Certifications: One or more of the following certifications are preferred: 

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate 
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) 
• TOGAF Certification 
• Security+ or other security certifications

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges 
• Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 
• Excellent leadership capabilities to guide implementation teams and influence stakeholders 
• Strategic thinking with the ability to balance immediate needs with long-term architectural goals 
• Collaborative approach with experience working across cross-functional teams 

Compensation & Benefits 

Salary: $150,000-$170,000 per year (DOE – Dependent on Experience)
